A hot summer day, the fox was walking through an orchard and stopped in front of the grape trellis.
The vines are covered with bunches of crystal-clear and fragrant grapes.
The fox thought: "What delicious grapes! I happen to be hungry, now I can have a delicious meal."
The tree was too high for the fox to reach. He took a few steps back and jumped forward, but failed to pick the grapes.
So, the fox tried his best to jump up and grab it with his hands, but still couldn't reach it and only grabbed a few leaves.
The fox tried several more times, but still couldn't reach it. The little rabbits and deer next to them all laughed at the fox for being a fool.
The fox was so tired that he was sweating profusely. He gasped and said, "These grapes are not ripe yet. They must be very sour! They must not be delicious." Then he went home dejectedly.
As it walked, it looked back at its beloved grapes, feeling sour in its heart.
He comforted himself by saying, "These grapes are not ripe, they must be sour."
